OPSIMUS
Monitoring Service
A Watchful Identity
Opsimus is an uptime monitoring service that keeps watch over websites, applications, domains and SSL certificates. That idea of monitoring several things at once naturally led to a many-armed creature – part octopus, part friendly digital guardian – as the starting point for the identity.
Naming the Guardian
The name Opsimus grew from a blend of DevOps and Optimus Prime. I wanted it to feel slightly Latin, suitably powerful and, above all, like a name that could belong to the many-armed guardian behind the service.

Finding the Right Typeface
The search focused on an unconventional sci-fi typeface that felt technological without becoming harsh or overly futuristic. It needed to retain a sense of elegance and scientific precision while giving Opsimus a distinctive character.
Designing the Guardian
From the earliest sketches, I imagined the mascot as an animated character rather than a static symbol. Despite having six arms, Opsimus could also levitate and move objects using telekinetic, almost Jedi-like powers – an idea brought to life in the final animation, where both the guardian and the rocks around it rise and fall.
The Final Identity
The final identity brings the name, sci-fi wordmark and six-armed guardian together as one visual system. Alongside the static logo, an animated version brings the character to life as Opsimus gently levitates, lifting the surrounding stones before settling back down.
